1. Our commitment
Many of the people who visit our website are older adults, people living with disabilities and family members looking for care. We have designed this website to be clear, simple and easy to use, and we aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
2. What we have done
- Clear, readable text with a large default size
- Strong colour contrast between text and backgrounds
- Every page can be used with a keyboard alone
- Clear focus outlines so you can see where you are on the page
- Descriptive text for images
- Clear labels and helpful error messages on all forms
- Headings that help screen reader users find their way around
- Pages that work when you zoom in up to 400%
- Reduced animation for anyone who has turned on "reduce motion" on their device
- Phone numbers you can tap to call on a mobile
3. Known limitations
We test our website regularly. At our last review, we were aware of the following:
- The official CQC widget and embedded Google Maps are provided by third parties, and we cannot fully control how accessible they are. Our address and CQC registration details are also given in plain text on the same pages.
- Some older documents, if added in future, may not be fully accessible. We will provide them in another format on request.
[CONFIRM: update after pre-launch accessibility test]
